This morning, two weeks after the state-sanctioned execution* of Derrell Mickles and the shooting of several bystanders on the L train line, actionists in Brooklyn dismantled the border infrastructure at the Montrose Ave L Station: card readers were disabled with glue and tap screens were smashed to pieces, forcing the closure of the station’s only turnstiles and allowing all patrons to legally enter the station without paying.

We refuse to pay for subway fare in a city that gives millions of dollars to a violent, occupying police force rather than social services. We refuse to comply with arbitrary rules set by fascists that determine a man’s life is worth $2.90. We recognize that the same death cult that created and patrols the Southern border with México is the same death cult that creates and patrols borders in occupied Palestine and the West Bank is the same death cult that has now killed a man in Brooklyn. MURDERERS OFF THE MTA.

We call on all comrades in the 5 boroughs to join our free fare movement and join us in enforcing free fares throughout the system.

CCNY Redecorated on Anniversary of Al-Aqsa Flood

Disclose! Divest! We will not stop, we will not rest!

In the early hours of Monday, October 7, autonomous actionists embellished the entrance to a CCNY building to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood jail break from Gaza & to echo widespread calls for CUNY divestment from apartheid and genocide among its community of 275k+ students.

We amplify community calls for:
1) disclosure & divestment of its ~$8.5 million holdings in complicit companies such as Dell, IBM, HP, Lenovo, Cisco, and BMC Software,
2) academic boycott of all trips to the zionist entity,
3) protections for students & workers expressing solidarity with the Palestinian liberation struggle,
4) a demilitarized campus including no IOF-affiliated speakers on campus and banning of the IOF-trained NYPD from campus, and
5) a People’s CUNY to support community members at large. Shame on Chancellor Félix Matos Rodríguez and President Vincent Boudreau for security coordination with the pigs who brutalize principled, peaceful protesters.

We know CUNY is eminently capable of fulfilling these demands due to the 1984 Board of Trustees decision to divest from apartheid South Africa! Solidarity to the student intifada, solidarity to the Palestinian resistance, and glory to the martyrs of Palestine. The entity will fall!

Sabotaging Citibank in NYC on Oct 7

Today we remember not just one year since October 7th, 2023, but we also remember the genocide that Palestinians have been resisting since 1948. We remember the over 186,000 Palestinians martyred by the Zionist entity. We remember that we, as Americans, are complicit in the genocide as American imperialism allows “Israel” to exist and funds the murder of oppressed peoples worldwide.

We targeted Citibank today because of its role in the genocide of Palestinians. It boasts having “the largest presence of any foreign financial institution in Israel”, providing services for Israel to secure money and weapons to perpetuateing its genocide against the Palestinian people. Furthermore, according to Bloomberg, Citi was the sole underwriter of a $500 million bond to Israel in January 2024, shortly after the start of the genocide in Gaza. Citi has also facilitated the sale of billions in bonds for Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, makers of the missiles and fighter jets Israel uses in Gaza. Citibank also invests and partners with Israel’s tech sector, which develops and deploys technology to surveil and terrorize Palestinians.

Citibank is also implicated in crimes committed in the West Bank through their ownership stake in two of Israel’s largest banks: Bank Leumi and Israel Discount Bank, both of which play an essential role in funding illegal settlements.

Economic activism in 1987 forced Citibank to divest from apartheid South Africa and through direct action we will force Citibank to divest from the genocide of the Palestinian people. We will continue to learn from the tenacity of the Axis of Resistance and will continue to resist until all imperial and colonial states fall, and until we win the liberation of all oppressed people worldwide. Glory to all the martyrs and glory to the Intifada.

An hour ago, at Union Square during WOL’s march commemorating Operation Al Aqsa Flood, a New York Pig Department effigy was set on fire. This comes 2 weeks after NYC’s cop mayor Eric Adam was indicted on corruption charges, 3 weeks after armed pigs committed a mass shooting at the Sutter Avenue subway station, and after 365 days of NYPD violently repressing pro-Palestine protests throughout the city.

Weiner is NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Counterterrorism and their liaison in “Tel Aviv.” She boasts about receiving hourly updates from the NYPD’s own office in occupied Palestinian land, underscoring the financial and ideological ties between the IOF and the Amerikan police.

She was commended by Eric Adams for spearheading the brutal arrests of three hundred pro-Palestine protestors at Columbia University, including the use of live ammunition, a BearCat tank, and flash bangs grenades on protestors inside Hind’s Hall.

In May 2023, Wiener was appointed to Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, cementing the ties between the NYPD, the IOF, and the moneyed universities which, behind their closely surveilled gates, launder the despicable crimes of the imperial core.

Vandalism at Baruch College

Activists vandalized the windows of Baruch College’s dining hall on the early hours of October 6th to demands cops off campus and for Baruch administration to slash all ties with the racist NYPD. Global Citizen is selling out our social and environmental justice movements to the world’s worst corporations. New Yorkers condemn its corrupt silence on the illegal Israeli occupation’s genocide in Gaza.

Global Citizen claims its mission is to “defeat poverty, demand equity, and defend the planet.” So why is the organization – and this event — funded and directed by genocide and climate change profiteers?

Citigroup, the multinational investment bank, is a “presenting partner” of the Global Citizen Festival. It’s also the top funder of fossil fuel expansion projects since the Paris Agreements. Citigroup is also deeply invested in the Israeli occupation of Palestine. As the first and largest U.S. bank to operate in the occupied territory (starting right after it was the last U.S. bank to withdraw from apartheid South Africa), Last October, Citigroup issued the zionist regime a $500 million war bond to begin the genocide in Gaza, and has since facilitated billions in U.S. taxpayer-funded arms shipments from Raytheon and Lockheed Martin.

With its public commitment to human rights, large platform, and connections throughout politics, business, finance, media, and the entertainment industry, Global Citizen is well-positioned to hold the U.S. and Israel accountable by influencing public attitudes and policies about this genocide. Defaced Columbus statue that was thrown into a Virginia pond finds more welcoming home in NYC suburb

A Christopher Columbus at the center of a tumultuous 2020 protest recently found a new home in a New York City suburb – and this time, it’s embraced by some of the locals.

“We’re all very proud of Christopher Columbus, and we’re here to preserve the history of Christopher Columbus finding and discovering America,” Paul Borghese of the Order of the Sons of Italy Lodge No. 2176, told [mainstream news source].

Michael Pizzi, another member of the order, told the outlet that the figure “represents Italian heritage and culture and everything that we’re proud of.”

The 8-foot tall bronze likeness of the historically significant Italian explorer was formerly housed at the entrance of Byrd Park in Richmond, Virginia, until being uprooted by protesters in light of George Floyd’s 2020 death, according to reports.

In images from the tumultuous summer, protesters are seen marching near the statue, holding signs that called for removal of imagery that recognizes colonizers to pay respect to indigenous communities.

Other reports and images show the statue on the ground after being pulled down from its pedestal with ropes, defaced with spray paint and lit on fire.

The protesters then dragged the statue to a nearby pond and submerged it in water.

The nearly 100-year-old homage to Columbus was later retrieved and restored before eventually being shipped to its new home in the Empire State.

It’s now housed at the Rockland Sons of Italy Lodge in the hamlet of Blauvelt, located approximately 20 miles northwest of New York City.

But, while some are happy to see the statue housed in its new location, others argue honoring Columbus is unethical or even pointless.

Cliff Mathias, cultural director of the Red Hawk Native American Arts Council, told [mainstream news source] that “Columbus never discovered America,” elaborating by saying he never stepped foot on the continent of what is now considered the United States.

“By no means is Columbus someone that this country should celebrate,” Mathias continued, adding, “If you go to Italy… most of them don’t give a hoot about Columbus. He’s not celebrated in Italy at all.”
