An hour ago, at Union Square during WOL’s march commemorating Operation Al Aqsa Flood, a New York Pig Department effigy was set on fire. This comes 2 weeks after NYC’s cop mayor Eric Adam was indicted on corruption charges, 3 weeks after armed pigs committed a mass shooting at the Sutter Avenue subway station, and after 365 days of NYPD violently repressing pro-Palestine protests throughout the city.

Make no mistake: New York City is a fully militarized Cop City. The same forces that terrorize working class black and brown New Yorkers also brutalize us for opposing genocide. They are armed agents of the settler empire that is Amerika, paid to enforce the global hierarchy of races through violence.

So today, on the one year anniversary of Al Aqsa Flood, we say:
PIGS OUT OF SUBWAYS!
DISBAND THE STRATEGIC RESPONSE GROUP!
ABOLISH THE COUNTERTERRORISM UNIT!

Our Demands

Following months of barbaric brutality from the NYPD, we demand:

1. The resignation of Eric Adams

From federal investigation, to emboldening his police forces to attack protesters, the disgraced Zionist mayor is not fit for NYC.

2. The disbandment of the NYPD’s Strategic Response Group

The SRG is a notoriously violent rapid response group of the NYPD tasked with policing protests, best known for its violence, misconduct, and racial bias.

3. Shut down NYPD’s office in occupied Palestine

The NYPD regularly coordinates with the zionist occupation to surveil Palestinian, Arab and Muslim New Yorkers from its office in occupied Palestine.

Statement on Emergency Action to Flood Manhattan for Lebanon

Tonight, the NYPD unleashed the full force of their violence against New York’s Palestinian, Arab and Muslim communities in an attempt block us from protesting the United Nations as the General Assembly commences this week. WOL leader Abdullah Akl was violently arrested and sent to the hospital tonight. Dozens of others were also brutally attacked by SRG officers who clearly targeted Muslim youth leaders, as the unit serves to criminalize Black and Brown communities.

Thousands of New Yorkers took to the streets today after “israel” massacred over 500 people in Lebanon on Monday. As the US demonstrates its barbaric support for the genocidal Zionist project and opposition to it grows worldwide, the NYPD has escalated its brutality against our movement.

CUNY4Palestine, Within Our Lifetime, and National Students for Justice in Palestine call for a Week of Rage to protest the filming of an FBI: Most Wanted episode at CUNY Queens College featuring a fictionalized Gaza Solidarity Encampment scene, complete with tents, a “chase and arrest” scene, and a mock-explosion.

This is a clear attempt to simultaneously demonize and profit from the Student Movement against the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. This episode obfuscates the concrete demands of the Student Intifada: our universities must divest from settler colonialism and genocide and cut all ties with Israeli academic institutions.

Just two weeks ago, The Lancet revealed the shocking estimate that 186,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza by direct fire, enforced starvation, and rampant spread of diseases.

In the face of the accelerating atrocities in Gaza, and rising fascist repression across Turtle Island, we must continue to organize and mobilize for an end to the genocide and for a free Palestine, from the river to the sea.

Why We Protested Nova: Confronting Zionist Propaganda and the Manufacturing of Consent for Genocide

On Monday, June 10th, Within Our Lifetime called for a citywide Day of Rage for Gaza in response to the US-sponsored massacre in Nuseirat Camp that killed over 270 Palestinians and left more than 700 wounded, as part of the ongoing genocide being carried out against the Palestinian people.

New Yorkers responded by flooding the streets and shutting down the zionist propaganda “Nova Exhibition NYC,” currently installed at 35 Wall Street. In defiance of the NYPD’s growing brutality against protesters, targeting of Palestinian Muslim women, and their pathetic attempts to defame organizers, Within Our Lifetime strongly reiterates our call for sustained action against any institution facilitating or justifying the genocide of the Palestinian people, including the Nova Exhibition, for as long as it is in New York and in any city it will travel to next.
